According to the online abstract: "Agencies performing routine law enforcement duties, no matter how exciting these duties may be, are by the very nature of our culture and value system unprepared to make the mental adjustment that will be required in order to mitigate the catastrophic results intended in a well coordinated terrorist attack. The Interactive Terrorism Brief is designed to give first responders key indicators that their community is indeed under attack, thus preparing them to make the mental shift -- from peace officer to warrior -- required in order to protect their jurisdiction. This unique brief highlights the terrorist mindset; current terrorist tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP); and improved explosive devices (IEDs). The training addresses this information utilizing a plausible, multi-campaign attack scenario which includes vehicle-borne IEDs, a hostage situation, and a body bomb incident." |
