Special Collections

A Reference Index was donated by Ernest (Ernie) D. Hamm, expert in latent print, footwear, and tire track examinations. This index contains 2836 latent print, footwear, tire track, and miscellaneous forensic examinations files citations. The citations will be incorporated into the NCSTL database.

This donation included forensic books and journals from Mr. Hamm's private collection. These are part of the NCSTL collection in the Stetson University College of Law Library and are available through interlibrary loan.

Mr. Hamm has been an important part of the forensic community as reknowned practitioner, historian and educator for the past thirty years. He taught forensic examiners worldwide and is a Fellow of the Fingerprint Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences as well as a Life Member of the Canadian Identification Society (CIS) and a Life and Distinguished Member of the International Association for Identification (IAI). Mr. Hamm was also a certified inspector of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) Laboratory Accreditation Board.

NCSTL extends a warm “Thank You” to Mr. Hamm, Retired Fellow AAFS General Section, for continuing his generous donations of newsletters, journals, and reviews to NCSTL and its special collection in the Stetson Library.
